The BloggerAid Cookbook

I interrupt your scheduled of viewing my cakes to bring to you a most important announcement.....

If you haven’t heard of BloggerAid you really should head over there and take a look. What is BloggerAid I hear you ask?! - It is about a group of food bloggers who are committed to fighting world famine. By drawing media attention, holding fund-raising events and all I can say is “PLEASE” do show your support for this cause. This is a most ambitious project to date by writing a cookbook. Ivy of Kopiaste.. to Greek Hospitality , Giz of Equal Opportunity Kitchen and Val of More Than Burnt Toast are the organisers. This cookbook will be on sale through amazon.com in November/ December this year and all the profit from sales will go directly to The World Food Programme (WFP), the UN food aid agency.

I quote their words:

"We have announced our largest fundraiser to date ever!!!! ..., we will be publishing a cookbook with 100% of the profit from sales being directed to our chosen agency. The funds we raise will be directed to specific programs of The World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nations frontline agency. The needs are great and choosing a specific effort is currently being negotiated."

You can contribute by submitting one original recipe that you have not published before; non-bloggers are also welcome. The deadline is 31st March 2009. More details can be found here.

Here is my contribution to the BloggerAid Cookbook: - Luscious Lemon Drizzle Cake.

An easy to make cake which is moist and lemony with a satisfying crust by combining flavours of tart and sweet.

For the recipe, you can read it in the cookbook after it's published November/ December this year. Don't forget to buy the book ;0)

I love lemony cakes ... actually, the very first cake I ever made on my own in my early teens was a lemon chiffon and I made it repeatedly for many years to follow. It's been quite a while however, so thank you for reminding me of it! Can't wait to see your recipe in the cookbook!

P.S. I hope you're feeling better :)
